Abigail Varney is an Australian photographer who lives in Melbourne. After completing her time at Photography Studies College in Southbank, Abigail went to New York City were she interned with Mary Ellen Mark.
She is best known for her portrait work photographing up and coming artists and comedians, her distinct style reflects one that embodies a strong sense of colour and narrative. Abigail’s last portrait exhibition was held at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra in 2014. Since then her folio has expanded to the Australian landscape using her photography as a means to explore the identity of Australia focusing on the more iconic settings. She wishes to continue her iconic Australian exploration and its ever changing cultural identity.
